Shelley Rowley

Shelley joined Friends' Board of Directors in 2013, after serving as the volunteer Assistant Regional Director and Regional Chair of the FIRST Regional Planning Committee in Hawaii for several years.

Shelley is currently a Senior Manager at HMSA (Hawaii Medical Service Association) leading the Program Innovation and Development team of business analysts, project and program managers who work on enterprise-level strategic initiative programs for the organization.  She started her career in the State of Maine as the Assistant Director for the Women, Infants and Children’s (WIC) Nutrition Program.  She transitioned into the private sector working in the defense industry with a career opportunity which brought her to Hawaii in 1996, working for BAE Systems.  With years of program and project management experience, she has led successful project implementations in very diverse assignments in her career.  She was awarded the BAE Systems Chairman’s Silver Award and the Chief of Naval Operations Environmental Award for Environmental Excellence for the work she performed on the Marine Species Mitigation Research Team.  She is a strong and inspirational leader with a talent for building trust in the team and an outstanding team player who exhibits excellent collaboration and leadership skills. 

Shelley is dedicated to maintaining a reputation built on quality, service, and uncompromising ethics.  She spends her free time volunteering for robotics programs in Hawaii and enjoys spending time with family and friends and relaxing at the ocean on her stand-up paddleboard.
